The T-POD (Trauma Pelvic Orthotic Device), manufactured by Teleflex, is a medical device that provides circumferential compression to stabilize the pelvis in patients suspected of having a pelvic fracture, potentially reducing blood loss and pain. Injuries to the pelvic ring are associated with a significant risk of death (28-50%) and require urgent treatment. Clinical evidence shows that pelvic stabilizing devices like the T-POD can improve outcomes in pelvic fractures. Immediate and correct application can be life-saving in hemodynamically unstable patients.It has been shown to reduce pubic symphysis separation by up to 60% (range 24-92%; p=0.01).
